Greetings, my name is Samuel and I am a math tutor with hundreds of hours of experience under my belt at all levels of education. In the 2019-2020 school year, I helped teach the algebra, pre-calculus, and calculus courses at UC Irvine and loved it. Greetings, my name is Samuel and I am a math tutor with hundreds of hours of experience under my belt at all levels of education. In the 2019-2020 school year, I helped teach the algebra, pre-calculus, and calculus courses at UC Irvine and loved it. In college, I took a wide variety of classes from the calculus series to multivariable calculus, differential equations, group theory, and analysis. I spend the last two years of my undergraduate career primarily teaching and taking graduate-level coursework. I have taken IB and A-levels coursework and am also highly proficient in the SAT, ACT, and GRE math sections, having gotten an 800 on the SAT II.

As someone who enjoys math, I love learning it and helping others enjoy learning math too. However having taken terribly difficult math classes myself, I can also understand the struggle as a student when something just doesn't make sense. I think the beauty of learning math is that anyone can learn it at any age. I absolutely believe that all students can understand any mathematical concept and I will do my best to help reach your goals.

Here are some of the classes I took, excelled in, and am comfortable teaching:

At the middle school and high school levels, I am familiar with Algebra 1,2,3, Trigonometry, Pre-calculus, Calculus I, II, III, Geometry. I enjoy drawing from intuition using pictures and metaphors to make the core concepts clear. I try my utmost not only to raise grades and explain units but ultimately emphasizing a foundation on which students can build towards future, harder classes.

And at the college level I am familiar with Linear Algebra Topology, Logic and Set Theory, Differential Equations, Group Theory, Ring Theory, Real and Complex Analysis, Functional Analysis, Fourier Analysis as well as a handful of other courses. College courses are often different and difficult courses for a reason but by discussing and engaging with students personally I have had several students raise grades from a C- to a B+ and a B- to an A.

Knowledgeable and patient tutor.

Samuel helped my son get a better grasp on his algebra. My son has been repressing in algebra and Samuel is working to reverse that. He is very knowledgeable and patient in working with my son.
