Approved subjects are in **bold**.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

I am a professional math teacher with over 15 years experience in teaching, tutoring and coaching algebra 2 and trigonometry and preparing for pre-calculus and calculus.

In addition to having completed courses in C, C++, and Java programming. I have taught C++ and C as an AP course at the high school level.

Aside from tutoring students in Calculus, Differential Equations and Linear Algebra while in college, as a high school teacher I teach the AP Calculus course which is equivalent to a first semester college course.

In addition to having completed courses in C, C++, Java, Unix Administration Shell Programming, I also studied Pascal, MATLAB, and r on my own.

I have complete mastery in both Mac and PC computers using MS Word, Excel, and Access as well as AppleWork and Pages. In addition, I I am familiar with linux-based Xfig and java-based jFig drawing programs as well as LaTeX for mathematical typesetting in linux, Windows or Mac.

I have a BA in mathematics and as such, I have studied at least two semesters of differential equations and vector calculus. Besides that, I have completed more than half of the courses at the graduate level required for a master's degree. Finally, my profession is teaching mathematics and educational research.

Discrete Math is the study of objects that can enumerated using integral values. This is of primary importance in the study of computer science. As a student of mathematics, I studied discrete math at the college level due to my interest in computer science. Counting Principle, Sequences and Series, Probability and elementary Number Theory are subjects I teach and all constitute the area known as Discrete Mathematics. I have a BA in mathematics and I have completed more than half of the courses at the graduate level required for a master's degree. .

I am a native speaker/writer of Persian. In addition to studying Classical Persian Prose and Poetry at U.C. Berkeley, I have also taught basic Farsi to elementary level children. In addition, I am credentialed teacher in Mathematics.

I am a professional math teacher with over 15 years of experience in teaching, tutoring and coaching students in geometry, honors geometry and remedial geometry. With just a few sessions, you will gain confidence and understanding of the material.

As a math major, I have taken both the basic course as well as the advanced course in linear algebra. In addition, I have taken 2 semesters of numerical analysis which involves large amounts of linear algebra theory and application.

Besides being a teacher of Geometry, my area of specialization for my undergraduate pure mathematics degree was logic and set theory. I am able to teach and tutor the basic concepts in both logic and set theory, prepositional logic, and axiomatic set theory.

I am a Mac user and as such regularly install and upgrade my system. I can write simple scripts and use the terminal if necessary.

I have complete mastery in AppleWork and some Pages. In addition, I I am familiar with java-based jFig drawing programs as well as LaTeX for mathematical typesetting on the Mac.

I am generally a Mac user, but I started learning about PC's with DOS. Going from Mac to Windows was tedious at first but with Windows having advanced through XP and later with Windows 7, the differences have decreased. I am quite familiar with the Windows file structure, the Control Panel, installing software, etc. I have even installed Windows using the old Virtual PC and now VirtualBox on my Mac.

In addition to having completed courses in C, C++, Java, Unix Administration Shell Programming, I also studied Pascal, MATLAB, and r on my own before taking an actual Pascal class. I have a sizable library of code in Pascal.

Experience teaching and tutoring math analysis and precalculus at the honors and regular level. Knowledgeable of both necessary material for the course as well as sufficient preparation for the AP calculus class. My goal is to help the student understand the concepts rather than memorize formulas in order to achieve success far beyond the tutoring sessions.

I have a bachelor's degree in Pure Mathematics from UC Berkeley and have completed more than 3 years of graduate studies in Applied Math with emphasis on linear modeling, simulations and data analysis. I am a current math teacher in high school and teach advanced courses such as AP Calculus, AP Statistics in addition to all other math courses. My tutoring style is to help students reach an understanding of the topic through examples as well as clarifying theoretical considerations.

I am an experienced teacher having taught all high school and early college level courses. I have extensive background with Trigonometry and Algebra 2 as well as Geometry and Pre/Calculus.

UNIX is one of the oldest operating systems still around. Before PC's and Window based systems became popular, direct command was the only way to work with computers. I learned a DEC based UNIX before college and found the transition to BSD rather easy. Even though UNIX was the main system I used while in college, I decided to take a few courses in UNIX and later Linux to enhance my administrative capabilities. I am familiar with UNIX file structure, permission setting as well as managing users and cpu processes. I am able to write simple scripts for csh and bash as well as utilizing awk and grep for file management. I can edit files using vi and emacs and send email directly.
