Dear Prospective Student(s):
My name is Dale C. and I live in Yuma, AZ. I am presently working as a substitute teacher. I substitute teach at all grade levels. I hold a substitute teaching certificate from the state of California, and have plans to acquire a substitute teaching certificate from the state of Arizona. I enjoy working with and coaching students. I enjoy coaching track and field and basketball. I am married to my wife of 30 years and we have a 16 year old son who is a junior in high school. I grew up in the Oklahoma City, Oklahoma area. I graduated from high school in 1980 and immediately went on to college. I was graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma in December 1984 with a BA degree in Oral Communications and Public Relations. I received my Master of Divinity degree from the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in New Orleans, LA in December, 1988. For 26 years I served as a minister. I am presently taking a break from that career, but I hope to return to that profession in the future. I enjoy hiking, running, and just about every sport. I have lived in Oklahoma, Louisiana, Nevada, Utah, and Arizona. I have two objectives when I am tutoring and coaching students: to assist the student to give his or her best effort and have fun! I believe life should be fun. I enjoy hiking, fishing, and, camping. Education should be enjoyable. My approach to tutoring is to guide the student to better understanding of the specific subject(s). I am willing to tutor students in all subjects, including basic math, English, spelling, wring, reading, science, and history.
I am very good at teaching basic skills in basketball; dribbling, passing, and shooting. I am patient with young players and I play everyone regardless of ability. Give your best effort and I will play you. I coach basketball to be fun. When I was growing up in school, English was one of my strong subjects. I am an excellent reader and speller. I am also proficient with grammar. I always made A's and B's in English. I also enjoy studying history! I find it fascinating. History was also one of my strong subjects in school. I enjoy learning about the ancient world and how civilizations of the past survived. I made good grades in history. I welcome the opportunity to work with any and all students who are willing to give their very best effort to their studies. I have been a substitute teacher for a total of about 3 years. I have substituted at all grade levels, but mostly at the junior high and high school levels. I am easy to get along with and will do my best to ensure that learning is an enjoyable experience. I believe my background in working with people will be a benefit for me and all students I tutor. I do not expect perfection, only your best effort. Need a tutor? Why not give me a chance.
