Hello, I'm Molly, a Tucson, AZ local and arts business professional. For a long time, my life was all about school - I attended University High School, a rigorous and esteemed college preparatory school in the middle of a public education funding desert. There, I fell in love with mathematics and pursued it to the nth degree, taking every AP and Honors math class available. I accumulated so many AP credits that I began my undergraduate career in mathematics at the University of Arizona (UA) as a sophomore. Over the next year, I began to realize that while I loved math and the logic puzzles that came with it, what I truly enjoyed studying was the inner workings of other countries - culturally, structurally, etc. I changed my major to Political Science with a Foreign Affairs concentration. I also added an Economics minor so I could continue exploring the applied worlds of mathematics.

I quickly realized that what drove me to both math and political science so strongly was not only my interest in the subjects, but also the teachers that allowed my curiosity to thrive. A major determining factor in switching majors was the captivating learning environments my Political Science professors curated, while my Mathematics professors seemed bored and disengaged. Since graduating from the UA in 2016, I have made a conscious effort to embed curiosity into everything I do, whether that's helping friends with their essays, managing artists and staff at the music venue I operated for four years, or developing my own personal interests. While I am new to professional tutoring, I strongly believe that curiosity is key for establishing understanding of everything from foundational math problems to greater world issues. As a tutor, I seek to engage curiosity through patience, understanding, and the knowledge that no two students learn in the same way.

While I ultimately received a degree in Political Science, I began my undergraduate career studying toward a BS in Mathematics. I had excelled in math in high school, taking every AP class available - I took both AP Calculus BC and AP Statistics my senior year and received 4's on both AP exams. It wasn't until I was taking Differential Equations at the University of Arizona that I discovered a passion for international relations and switched my major. I compensated by adding an Economics minor and exploring math and reasoning through a more applied, global lens. I still find math to be incredibly interesting and find joy in sharing my knowledge of the fundamentals with others.

I am an open book and encourage you to reach out if you would like to learn more about me and my qualifications in a certain field of study. It is important to develop trusting relationships with my students, so please feel free to ask any questions you may have to determine if we are a good fit for each other.
