I am a creative thinker with experience and acumen in the teaching and understanding of difficult medical and scientific subjects. I have an east coast education, and have taught basic sciences, human physiology, biochemistry, cell biology and pharmacology at both the college and professional levels. I have also taught pharmacy, written four medical textbooks, and held a professorship in pharmacology at two medical schools, so am experienced in the teaching of complex medical concepts. I teach in an understandable manner, and encourage a thorough understanding of the material, on all levels so that the concepts learned can be properly used in practice. My students must be able to think, synthesize, comprehend and properly utilize the material in practice. I encourage multiple -levels of understanding and prepare a good foundation for the learning of difficult concepts, making it interesting and fun. In addition to pharmacology, physiology, medicine and pharmacy, I am well versed in chemistry, biology and mathematics, as well as cell biology, and endocrinology.
I hold a bachelor's degree and master's degree in Biology, from the University of Arizona, as well as a master's degree and doctorate in medical pharmacology from NY Medical College, and had post doctoral training at Harvard Medical School.
If you are having trouble understanding basic science, or especially higher level courses in medical physiology, biochemistry, cell biology and particularly pharmacology, I can help. I can also help with understanding pharmacy, pharmacy practice, dosage calculations, and understanding drug-related issues, therapies, drug-drug interactions, adverse effects, dosage, and other therapy related issues. I can tutor in person on the north/east side of Tucson, midtown or at the U of A. I am also available by e-mail, text and phone for extra on the spot help.
