University of Arizona (Italian Studies)
I'm a college freshman majoring in Italian Studies, with a minor in Education! I love to help others through learning. It's such a joy to see a child's face light up when they get a right answer or begin to understand something they didn't before! This is why I am minoring in Education. Tutoring and helping others has always been a passion for me, and I'm excited to see the future in continuing my passion.
My tutoring experience began when I started high school; my local elementary school started after school tutoring programs for high school students. It is the very root of my love for teaching kids. When I started as a Freshman, elementary math was my the first subject that I taught and continued to teach throughout my high school career. I would create study guides and coreograph lesson plans for the five students ranging from 1st-5th grade. Helping them with everything from homework to standardized tests, it was such a joy to teach these children.
To build off my high school tutoring experience, my Sophomore year, the elementary school tutoring program that I was volunteering at, created a music program. I would help to tutor children with flute, anywhere from K-6th grade. It was such a delight to teach these children flute. Some of the children I was tutoring in flute, I was also tutoring in math. In helping them learn their new instrument, I also began to see improvements in their core classes. I would create breathing exercises and construct a daily warm up routine of scales and etudes. I have been playing the flute since 3rd grade, and have been principal chair in honors Concert, Symphonic, and Wind Ensemble through all four years of high school. It was such an enjoyable experience to teach these elementary schoolers flute and to watch them progress through the 3 years I taught them.
I am a self taught artist, and am currently working as a freelance digital artist. My skills include: painting (as well as antiquing art and wood), traditional line art, digital art, and animation. For the past 5 years I have been tutoring my brother through his art, and he is currently looking into a full ride to The Art Academy in San Francisco. Teaching art has always been a wonderful experience for me. It allows children to be expressive and creative in their own way. I believe that there is no such thing as "bad art", the goal in art is to help children discover their own style, and to help them practice everyday to help them find what they find most enjoyable.
So feel free to reach out and message me for tutoring in these subjects, as I am a passionate individual and love to teach. I am here to help you succeed in the classroom. Teaching will always remain important in my life. I'm a college freshman majoring in Italian Studies, with a minor in Education! I love to help others through learning. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have been drawing and painting since 4th grade, I was professionally taught to antique wood as well as dynamic painting. When I was in 5th grade, I sold an antiqued wood painting at an auction for $364. When I was in 8th grade, I was featured on Flipnote Hatena's website for an animation about singing mice. My line drawing as well as digital art has continued to bring in fans on my blog, where I draw as a freelance digital artist.
