Jennifer helped me with a lab assignment and home work for General CHM151. She is a very patient and knowledgeable tutor, and she guided me step by step until I was comfortable doing the work myself. She's a great tutor.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

I have a Bachelor of Science degree (with Honors) in Chemistry and received A grades in all Organic Chemistry courses. I have also taken graduate level courses in Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry. I have taught and tutored college-level general chemistry courses for several years at Pima Community College in Tucson, Arizona. I have also taught introductory chemistry and organic chemistry courses for pre-nursing students. I have some work experience in the pharmaceutical industry as an analytical chemist. I worked for several years as a Laboratory Specialist for Pima Community College to help develop teaching lab experiments and preparing chemicals and instrumentation for weekly student labs in organic chemistry and general chemistry. Those years working in the community college as both adjunct faculty and laboratory specialist helped me develop my teaching and tutoring skills for chemistry. I am familiar with many issues that cause confusion for students and working with different faculty exposed me to different teaching styles from which I choose the best ways to reach my students.
