“**Outstanding!**”

Ever since my high school study groups at the local coffee shop back in Minnesota I've enjoyed helping others understand and enjoy mathematics. There is a joy that comes from understanding and that feeling is the most important aspect of any kind of learning.

Nick is approved to conduct lessons through Wyzant Online. Wyzant Online allows students and tutors to work remotely via video, audio, and collaborative whiteboard tools. For more information about how online tutoring works, check out Wyzant Online.

If you’re interested in online lessons, message Nick to get started.

Nick has an unbelievably thorough and thoughtful teaching style which allows him to convey complicated subject matter in a patient, intuitive fashion. He has an outstanding command of the material and is willing to spend as much time as necessary to ensure you get it as well. I can't recommend him more highly!

We went over my homework and he made it so much more clear and understandable. There wasn't a question I had that he couldn't answer.

When I reached out to Nick, he immediately responded. My son struggles in Statistics and Nick has been able to help him with his homework and projects. It's only been a short time, but my son has related to Nick and they seem to work well together. Nick has also been helpful with other subjects.

I met with Nick to get help, primarily, with Matlab. He was great to work with. He definitely understands the ins and outs of Matlab. I brought in some weird climate data, and Nick was able to adapt to that pretty well, and give me some solid guidance and help, thought the assignment we worked on was pretty niche. He explained some big-picture concepts to me that hadn't made sense prior to our session. I'll likely be contacting him again for future assistance.

Approved subjects are in **bold**.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

I am a PhD student in applied mathematics and have taken multiple courses on differential equations at the undergraduate and graduate level. These courses have covered numerical and analytic solutions.

My research consists of studying systems of nonlinear equations so I work with and think about differential equations daily.

I've been using MATLAB for classes and research for the last eight years. I've used it mainly for modeling differential equations, but have also done a fair bit of linear algebra and graph algorithms. I am very comfortable with writing scripts, functions, and making the documentation work for me. I've taught at least two semester long classes, ranging from trigonometry to calculus.
