The University of Arizona (B.S. Computer Engineering)
I am a graduate of the University of Arizona with a Bachelors in Computer Engineering. A little over 10 years ago, I acquired my first job as a teacher and fell in love with it. I have experience in front of a class, but one-on-one settings help bring out the best of my teaching abilities. I have tutored multiple students in different subjects such as Algebra, English and Spanish, but my passion is mathematics, since I find it very interesting how there are many paths you can reach the same resolution to a problem. While going to school, my employment was at an evening English school. I taught intermediate, advanced, and proficiency students.
As a tutor, I have been providing assistance to high school and college students. Working with them for a month (during summer school) or a full school-year, we have developed a good way of interacting with one another, and was available for them any time. Constant work, repetition, and dedication has allowed my students to move from a C or a D to a B, and in multiple instances, to an A, and maintained a high grade on following semesters. I take pride on being able to motivate both young kids, as well as adults to ensure they moved forward with their studies. I find fulfillment in showing every student I tutor that anyone can excel in any subject if they put in the effort, dedication and enthusiasm into it. I enjoy teaching students at all levels. I think the most important thing about tutoring is finding the specific learning style that best fits each individual. Let me help you discover what works for you! In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
