I went to the University of Arizona to become a math teacher. I graduated in 2013 and I immediately got a job at Basis. I am currently in my 3rd year of teaching math at Basis. I teach 5th graders Pre-Algebra and I also teach 10th-12th Graders Linear Algebra and Number Theory. I have taught 5th graders Pre-Algebra for the past three years. I have taught Linear Algebra last year and this year and I have taught Number Theory for the first time this year to seniors. I also make sure to give my students the opportunity to come in after school two days a week for about an hour if they need any extra assistance in the concepts that we have gone over or if they need any homework help. I usually have about 10-15 students each days for my after school help. I have done student teaching for Algebra 1, and Geometry. I am usually able to help out with all elementary math concepts and most middle and high school math classes.
I have been interested in tutoring students since I was in high school. I have tutored in elementary and middle schools though a tutoring program through the U of A. I really enjoyed helping these students out and they really enjoyed meeting someone who was a college student and willing to help them out with any part of their math homework. I am able to do group tutoring or one-on-one tutoring. I also feel a satisfaction helping out students so they can feel confident in their math class and know that they will do just fine in future math classes. I look forward on helping students with their math classes.
