About Hrvoje

Hello,

I am an experienced Veterinary Anatomy teacher used to work with large student groups. Currently I have spare time, that I would love to put in working in one on one mode with students in need of tutoring. I love the potential approach of one on one teaching, because much more can be conveyed and the amount of attention student can receive is unparalleled.

I have significant experience in teaching comparative anatomy of domestic animals, and some wild species (notably, marine mammals). In addition to my anatomy work as a teacher my scientific interests are in physiology branch, which makes me versatile as well as focused. I strongly believe that anatomy/physiology bond should be much stronger while teaching students in earlier years of Veterinary Medicine School.

If you find my profile interesting please let me know so you can learn more about each other, and so I can asses your level and schedule lessons. I am currently working as postdoctoral fellow in department of pharmacology, School of Medicine, University of Arizona.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Anatomy

I have studied veterinary sciences for 10 years combined (first for technician and then for practitioner). During this time, besides the regular "veterinary" subjects I enrolled in subjects covering ecology and roles of predatory mammals in bio systems. I actively worked on biology and pathology of marine mammals during this time. For the past 10 years, while obtaining my PhD I worked extensively in developing my knowledge in comparative anatomy, and basic animal physiology. During all this time I acquired general zoological knowledge as it holds my personal interests.
My teaching work is tied down to comparative anatomy, and I have been teaching it successfully for the past 6 years. Currently I am on a break from teaching since I am enrolled in a postdoctoral position in the University of Arizona where I work on physiology of cellular transporters (which has been my research interest for the past 10 years).

Physiology

I have studied veterinary sciences for 10 years combined (first for technician and then for practitioner).
My teaching work is tied down to comparative anatomy, and I have been teaching it successfully for the past 6 years. Currently I am on a break from teaching since I am enrolled in a postdoctoral position in the University of Arizona where I work on physiology of cellular transporters. I have been actively working on kidney physiology and the physiology of the cellular transport proteins for ten years now. Only recently have i shifted to research activity of transporters in brain. Since my schooling was on veterinary physiology and I my research is focused on basic - level physiological processes I believe I have solid background to help out both human and veterinary medicine, as well as younger students.
