I have been teaching mathematics (in public schools) for the past 15 years. I love to teach students why math is important and how it will affect (in a positive way) the rest of their lives. I especially love tutoring math students one-on-one, because it allows me the ability to form a personal relationship as well as an academic connection. I can teach and motivate any child into loving mathematics. I have tutored many students throughout my career and my greatest accomplishment is hearing a child say, "You make math easy to understand, I get it now." Under my tutelage, students will come to the realization that math doesn't get more difficult as you progress through the grades, it actually becomes conceptually easier to grasp because they now have the confidence and skill levels to understand why math works.
My ability to make connections, and reciprocate mutual respect makes me a perfect tutor for your child. I use humor to make learning math enjoyable. The last 10 years of my 15 year teaching career has been dedicated to honing my mathematical skills and pedagogical practices to become the best possible teacher I can be. During the last ten years, I have earned a Master's degree in Mathematics and earned my Elementary math specialist endorsement. I have taught 6th, 7th, 8th grade, pre-algebra, and Algebra. (Algebra is my favorite subject to teach.
I would love to teach your child math. I will come to your desired location, or we can settle on a neutral public site, whatever best suits your needs. Contact me and set up a plan to elevate your child's math knowledge.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
