My varied background experience includes 4 years as adjunct professor of English Composition plus several years as an ESL tutor. In addition,I have 30 years experience in Special Learning Disabilities, and Speech/Language therapy.. Because of my background, I am exceptionally good at finding the best way to teach a student. If one method does not work, I try another. I am especially good at language, reading and writing. This includes the language of Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, etc.
My certificates included, Elementary Education, Learning Disabled, Speech and Language Therapy, Humanities, and English. I was adjunct professor teaching writing. I have scored standardized tests since 1999. I love teaching and interacting with students.

This is only for English, short term tutoring. Generally high school or adult students.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
My certificate in Special Education qualifies me for ADD/ADHD. In addition, certification in Speech and Language Development gives more insight into possible problems. I have taught both SLD and SLP in classes and small groups of students in preschool and K- 12. I have 30 years of experience.
