About Robert

I studied computers at Pima Community College quite a few years ago. I was a student tutor and got this title from my teacher after showing proficiency with the programming language and procedures of that time (early 1980s). I did not get a degree because I got a job with a company during my second semester of college. I wound up owning the company after a few months. Since then I have dropped programming for web site design and construction. I am proficient with HTML but not any of the "site building" programs. I shy away from those because they usually make a lot of excess code to construct even one page.

I have built many computers and can repair most computer problems. I can tutor anyone because I have a lot of patience and understand why some people are "afraid" of their computer.

Need some instruction with getting started? I can help.

Is your computer sluggish? I can help you the majority of the time (sometimes a computer is "sluggish" because it is old).

As far as my editing and proofreading skills, I published a Country & Western fanzine for ten years and won Best Country & Western Publication four times.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Proofreading

From 1987 through 1997 I published a Country & Western magazine. During those years, I won four awards for Trade Publication of the Year. All of the preparation for the magazine (proofreading, editing, and layout) were done by myself.
