Hello potential student:
My aim is to help my students actually speak in the language they are studying. I'm a great resource if you have taken those classes, worked through that software pr those textbooks and manuals, and still feel confused about how to interact in one of the languages mentioned on my profile.
Through a very original system I developed over living abroad for 20+ years and learning to speak in 5 languages, I can get you past those humps through what we'll call a pre-immersion foreign language communication course. Some of the features of my system include technology supported role plays, capture and transcription, and an in-depth understanding of what you sound like in the target language if the artifice of pedagogy were removed entirely.
I limit my students to only those that are truly motivated to speak in their target language, usually for reasons related to social benefits (new friends and/or family members), living abroad, or work related opportunities.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have studied Arabic in Jordan at a specialised school for missionaries. It was an opportunity to get fully acquainted with the grammar and vocabulary and writing systems. I have worked in Arabic as a refugee camp worker in the West Bank, and used Arabic on the job. I have also lived in Damascus and Beirut and my Arabic accent is somewhere between Lebanese and Syrian. I am comfortable teaching beginning or lower intermediate students to read, write, and especially to speak!
