About Yasuko

Konnichiwa! I am Japanese. My name is Yasuko. Yasuko desu! Beginners welcome!!

I am a Japanese tutor. Every beginner (college student, college student, graduate student), refreshing Japanese or trying to study, you find the person!
I was born in Tokyo and moved to Yokohama Japan. I have a multicultural background. Learning a foreign language is exciting! The point is that you must communicate with native speakers! In the Japanese education system, we have to take English from middle school to university. I studied and got A + level, but I had no chance to talk with a native speaker. In my experience, I finally learned a foreign language when I turned the environment into a native speaker like an international student. Learning from native speakers is strongly recommended. Learning is much faster.
I started tutoring since last year. I have met many wonderful students. They tell me how willing to study Japanese from me and I want to help students succeed.

Thank you, Ryan, It is very pleased to teach Japanese like a passionate student like you. As far as possible, I can always use it for students who wish to learn. When I traveled to Japan, I was able to introduce REAL JAPAN. I was able to show live camera. Also, some students enjoyed watching the living Japanese landscape. You know a lot of Japanese vocabulary. I would like to recommend to read books and speak more Japanese. Japanese tongue twister is fun! It is a wonderful exercise for every day!

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Japanese

About my background, I grew up and graduated high school and college in Japan. My major was food science and nutrition, and after I graduated college I received nutrition certification. I am passionate about cooking and learning new foods. Also I love to visit a different international restaurant to get a new recipe. After I married, I came to the US and began to take ESL and regular college classes. It took a while due to my relocation. I finally graduated from community college in 2007 and additionally achieved BAS degrees for Technology Management from Northern Arizona University in 2011. I am native in Japanese and can teach reading, writing and speaking. I used to teach Japanese language and culture for children for a small study group. I personally have some experienced translating English to Japanese for documentary Japanese TV show. If you need to translate English to Japanese, I also can help with that. If students want to use my textbook, I can prepare and provide the session including multiple choice skill tests. Otherwise, students have to provide their material and questions.
