About Yasuko

I am native in Japanese and can teach reading, writing and speaking. I used to teach Japanese language and culture for children for a small study group. My first goal is to make sure that a student has fun in the process of learning a new language and help a student to achieve his/her goal.

If you are interested in Japanese culture, tradition, or anime, you can ask me. Many people ask me to translate their name from English to Japanese. I can show your name in three different Japanese characters: Kanji, Katakana, and Hiragna written and meaning of your name. If you need to translate English to Japanese, I also can help that.

I personally have some experience translating English to Japanese for documentary Japanese TV shows. For those who prefer online lessons, Skype lessons are available. My hobbies are cooking for many international foods such as Japanese gyoza, sushi, and soft bread and all good foods.

I provide textbooks and worksheets for student's level.
Materials provide: (textbooks can accept new version or different materials such as Genki)
Nakama 1 , Student activity worksheet, Step Hiragana, Beginner Katakana, and Kanji.
Japanesese(Kokugo) Kumon drill (worksheets), children challenge worksheets, Beginner Flash Hiragana cards, Katakana cards, and Kanji, Level tests, Japanese song, Video, Origami, etc. If you are beginner, I suggest to learn Hiragana until you can identify and read each word correctly.
Don't memorize the first order such as A, I, U, E O only. I provide to do randomly.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Japanese

About my background, I grew up and graduated high school and college in Japan. My major was food science and nutrition, and after I graduated college I received nutrition certification. I am passionate about cooking and learning new foods. Also I love to visit a different international restaurant to get a new recipe. After I married, I came to the US and began to take ESL and regular college classes. It took a while due to my relocation. I finally graduated from community college in 2007 and additionally achieved BAS degrees for Technology Management from Northern Arizona University in 2011. I am native in Japanese and can teach reading, writing and speaking. I used to teach Japanese language and culture for children for a small study group. I personally have some experienced translating English to Japanese for documentary Japanese TV show. If you need to translate English to Japanese, I also can help with that. If students want to use my textbook, I can prepare and provide the session including multiple choice skill tests. Otherwise, students have to provide their material and questions.
