Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

English

English is my first language. My older sister is an English instructor at ASU, and I worked as an English tutor at SSU's Writing Center for four years. I love to write in my spare time, and I enjoy helping others find their voice and the subject matter that they can become passionate about writing. Let's explore your options!

ESL/ESOL

I have so much respect for people who speak more than one language. I only speak one. I can only imagine how difficult it must be to have the words to express yourself in one language, but be unable to articulate that to others who are limited by their mono linguistic skills. I have the respect, patience, and kindness that you are looking for in order to bridge that gap during moments of frustration. It would be a privilege to be a part of your ESL/ESOL experience.

Grammar

I love grammar. I see grammar as word puzzles, and I adore solving and refining them! I'm a word geek. Join me!

Proofreading

I have extensive experience proofreading in academic and professional environments. From short academic papers to dense legislative analyses and several hundred page RFPs, I've got the experience and your back! Let's get together and identify some tips and tricks for you to catch mistakes before you make them!

Writing

I love reading, and that has fueled my love for writing! I'm a big proponent of outlines, clear theses, and good flow. I can teach you how to find your voice and your A!
