Arizona State University (Civil Engineering)
Dear Sir of Madam:
My name is Gina and I am currently attending Arizona State University pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering. My experience consists of a concentration in mathematical subjects. However, being a native speaker, I also have experience in Spanish and English. I graduated high school with a 4.2 GPA and I continued college with 3.5GPA. While in high school I would tutor some of my younger peers in these subjects for their exams or for pure comprehension necessities. The methods I use to help a student learn vary depending on the tutee. I understand that everyone has a different way of learning that ranges from visual, logical, physical or verbal understanding. The technique I use to help students learn is as follows: explaining, understanding, applying, and repeating until full a comprehension is achieved. Once this is completed a follow-up of examples after the lesson is essential to prove that a true understanding of the material has been fully accomplished to the point where the student is able to solve problems on their own.
I also hold experience in preparing students for college success. There are many students that do not know where to being when applying for colleges and applying for scholarships as well as preparing for the SAT and ACT exams. There is no better way to learn these skills than from someone who has already gone through this process. Please contact me for times of availability.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
