In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have an Arizona State Teaching Certificate which includes a reading specialist certification which allows me to teach reading K-12. In addition I also have a special ed certificate which allows me to teach all subjects K-12. However I do not teach math! My Special eEd certification includes an endorsement in learning disabilities and many students with learning disabilities have ADD or ADHD as well. I have taught the students in both public and charter schools. I've taught students with ADD who range in age from elementary to high school. I believe students with ADD or ADHD need frequent short breaks and assignments broken down I also don't mind if they stand up if as they work.
