I've recently moved to Arizona, and I have been teaching and tutoring writing, reading, and ESL for nearly 20 years. I have a Bachelor's degree in English, and a Master's degree in Literature. Most recently, I have been teaching writing, critical reading, and study skills at a community college. I have also taught and tutored ESL for students in elementary school, high school, and college.

I have a passion for grammar and writing, and after working with hundreds of students in class and on an individual basis, I have the expertise and experience to assist students in developing and improving writing or reading skills. Additionally, I have taught a number of study skills and college success courses to help students transition from high school to college. I have tutored students in TOEFL prep, and I have taught writing and research to international students. I love helping students learn, understand, and apply new knowledge and enjoy facilitating students' success as they learn new subjects.

I have extensive experience teaching and tutoring students in a wide range of language and learning skills. I explain concepts well, and I include real-world experience and ideas to help students relate new knowledge to existing knowledge. I also incorporate active learning strategies to help the learning process become more concrete. I have a broad range of experience in a variety of writing and literary genres, language skill areas, and learning concepts.
