Hello to all interested in learning and understanding not only how to excel in math classes, but how to also understand why it works.
First of all, math is my life. It's my one true love and gives me meaning in this world. I have so much passion for math and I hope it rubs off on all that are around me. Growing up, I have always been the student in the class that everyone asks for help on math problems. For this reason I have always tutored my friends and loved ones in math whenever they need help. It gives me great pleasure when I know I have helped someone in their math education. My goal is to have everyone know math well because math is part of our everyday lives and serves as logical reasoning to solve every problem we have.
Throughout all of my education math has been the easiest classes for me to earn A's in. Math comes naturally to me but on top of that I love to study math and make sure I have a thorough understanding of all the rules and reasons why math works. Math is not just memorizing formulas and plugging in information, it is knowing the rules behind all formulas and understanding the logic. I have always been able to communicate math very well to students that need help in math.
My credentials so far include math classes all the way up to Differential Equations. I have passed Calculus I, II and III with A's and have a thorough understanding of all material and what is needed to do well in each of the classes. Since math builds on all previous concepts, I can easily tutor students in lower math classes as well, whether it be elementary math to high school math.
I believe a major trait needed to tutor math is patience and determination. Math takes a lot of time and studying to learn but anyone can do it as long as they give it their best effort and devotion. I have learned many things from my mother, she has been teaching 5th and 6th grade for several years and has taught me important methods on how to teach math and how to relate the material to students so the information sticks to them.
Lastly, I want everyone to know I do not give up and will give students my devotion to make sure they understand the material they news to understand to make sure they stay on their correct path of education. Education is the most important thing in succeeding in today's harsh economy. Hello to all interested in learning and understanding not only how to excel in math classes, but how to also understand why it works.

I am so glad I have Jonathan as my statistics tutor. He is very smart, very patient, and knows how to accommodate customer's needs and schedules. My grades were starting to go down hill and he helped me to raise it up. In my opinion Jonathan is one of those genius math experts, when you have him you're pretty much sure you can pass or accelerate the course.
Jonathan has been great with my 17 year old who is stubborn, impatient and has anxiety issues when working with people he does not know. The first day he was very nervous and wanted to cancel, I talked him out of it and we started our sessions. After the first day he feels very comfortable with Jonathan and tells me that he finally is getting it and understands Algebra a lot better. Thank you Jonathan!
Jonathan did a great job. He was able to explain Calculus in a way I could understand. I felt very confident after working with him and I will definitely use him for future classes.
Jonathan has been tutoring my son for a few weeks now. My son has a stronger confidence when discussing Algebra class with me. I can see that the work he and Jonathan are doing is helping my son to be more comfortable and self secure with the class. Thanks Jonathan!
Jonathan is an amazing calculus and trigonometry tutor! My daughter is a senior in high school and enrolled in an honors calculus/trig course. My daughter and I were very stressed out over this course because she was struggling horribly and I was not able to help her. With Jonathan's help she was able to bring her grade up to a final grade of a B in the course! I didn't think it was possible, but he was able to explain concepts in a way that she could understand and retain them. We highly recommend Jonathan!
Jonathan: THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALL YOUR HELP. I know my son is trying very hard to pass this class. He feels very comfortable with you.
I'm taking calculus this year and Johnathan is a great tutor. Not only am I understanding the work better than I did but Johnathan has also taught me tricks on problems that I didn't know about. I've had many tutors and Johnathan by far is the best tutor I've had.
Jonathan is very knowledgeable in calculus 1-2, whether it is integrals, derivatives or anything else I need help with. He always has his own material to go along with my notes in the course and explains things very clearly and goes through the steps that are required to obtain the correct answer. He is very patient and understands the questions I ask him on the material we are going over. He does the work with me while explaining every step along the way and explaining where he is getting the answers from and we get through a lot of material in just one hour. I would recommend Jonathan as a tutor to anyone taking calculus 1-2 as he fully understands the material needed for this course.
Jonathan is a great tutor; he has teaching style that I can understand. I have been out of school for over 20 years, and now I am re-building the mathematical skills and confidence that I once had while in high school.
Jonathan has also been great in instructing me with new concepts that I have never been exposed to as well. I will continue to use his services as long as I need him. I would recommend to anyone.
It seems like my granddaughter really learned what he taught her. We look forward to him working with her in the future.
Jonathan was great to work with, he was able to explain my brief calculus to me in a way that made sense and it helped me understand the actual concepts. I will be using him again and would recommend him to anyone.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
Algebra 1 is one of the most important math classes for developing future math skills. This is the first class that focuses on math with a variable (x). Basically you learn how to treat equations with x instead of just numbers.
Algebra 2 focuses in depth what Algebra 1 presents. This is where you really start getting into core math topics needed in later math classes. You learn all about exponents, lines, parabolas, and a lot of the cartesian plane (graphing).
Biology is so unique because we can observe this topic in our every day lives. It is nature in its most basic form. We use the scientific method to analyze observations to produce facts about the world and how it evolves. Biology is the science of life!
Calculus is the first math class I truly fell in love with. The logic to it is very different from all math prior but you still use what you have learned so far. You can apply calculus to real life situations and once learned you really see math can perfectly describe everything around you and how the world works.
Geometry analyzes the relationships within all shapes. There will always be truths about all objects which are the equations you use to describe the object. This deals with squares, rectangles, triangles, polygons, and measurement of angles within these objects. This class gives you a more visual look at math.
I have received an A+ in MAT 342 at ASU in Tempe and ever since have been tutoring students in Linear Algebra. The basics is the understanding of matrices and the Gauss-Jordan Method. Later you get into inverses, proofs of a vector space(zero, scalar, addition), eigen values, dot product, and much more. Differential equations and Mathematical structures are good prerequisites to take before starting Linear Algebra. Basically the whole class is solving system of equations through matrices.
This class is super important because it prepares the student to deal with variables (x). Moving from dealing with numbers to dealing with x is a very hard leap of faith. This class will present how to solve for x and factor which is vital to math.
Precalculus goes in depth with algebra included with some geometry or even physics. This is the first class in math that really starts applying to real life situations. There is emphasis on trigonometry which is preparing you for calculus.
This math is very unique. You use all the knowledge obtained from geometry, algebra 1/2, and even college algebra. The SAT math is all about logical analysis. You need to get into the mind set of using variables instead of raw numbers. This is unlike any questions asked in regular math classes.
