BA in Elementary Ed. (Other)
My name is Jeanie. I am now certified on WyzAnt.com in English, literature, grammar, proofreading, American history, and writing.
My husband and I have lived and worked in Saudi Arabia, Alberta, Canada, Cyprus, New Zealand and many states. I love all cultures, and have been fortunate enough to implement the uniqueness of each culture in my teaching style.
I bring life, energy, knowledge of other lands, peoples, and yes, foods, to my classroom with hands on activities. For instance, a student could be given a writing prompt that he or she does not like. Why now draw a picture and then write about it?
I have joined a teacher's web site and have access to many things that I can download to refresh and teach. I also have math manipulatives.
I meet Arizona's requirements of being Highly Qualified, life time certified in Arizona's required SEI training, hold a valid finger print card, certified in CPR, Core Knowledge Curriculum, and am AIMS certified.
I have been lead teacher responsible for early morning, after school and summer programs for 4 years. These programs maintained a ratio of 3 students to one teacher.
My classes are always successful, and students say the days go by quickly.
Teaching is my life. I LOVE it. I look forward to meeting students and parents.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I began majoring in History and English before I changed to Elementary Ed.
However, my love for History is due to the fact that my family and I have lived and worked in 6 countries, being out of the US for approximately 15 years.
I provide hands on experiences not only in American History, but World History as well.
We are an international family, with adult children living on other continents.
The world is open to all of us. The people, cultures, FOODS, and traditions all have a place in each of us.
I can help, and will be happy to meet as often as necessary.
I was an English major before I decided to get my degree in Elementary Ed.
I have diverse ways of tutoring, and have great success with my students. Learning is always fun!
During the past 5 years, I have mostly taught to non English speaking students.
I am familiar with IEP's, Azella testing, as well as the paper work required by the state of Arizona for English Language Learners.
I positively LOVE grammar. It is such a fun subject to teach!
When I had my own classroom, I always had my students complete Daily Oral Language first thing in the morning. This got us off to a great day.
I know that grammar is part of the AIMS test in the spring, so not only do I feel it is important for testing, but is a life long process as well.
I bring enthusiasm and a love of teaching to anyone I teach, whether it be twenty students or one on one.
Teaching is my passion! I wake up for this daily.
I look forward to visiting with you in ways to help your child understand grammar.
