Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Hard Of Hearing

I am bilingual in American Sign Language (ASL) & English. I started studying American Sign Language 9 years ago. I have attended various ASL training programs as well as Phoenix College’s Deaf studies and Interpreting program. These programs focused history and provided access to communication for people who are Deaf or hard of hearing in America. I have been a direct support provider for children who are Deaf, hard of hearing or non-verbal for 1 year and to current.
