Thank you for considering me as a tutor. My focus is on building a strong foundation for the student. I believe having a strong ability to handle math, reading, writing and the English language will result in a confident student who can now build on these skills and accelerate the learning curve. Students must be proficient in the basics in order to confidently absorb the new topics that will be thrown at them as they move from grade to grade. Teachers in class cannot devote the required time to help students and so many fall behind. I will be sure that the student has what they need to not only get through the curriculum but will excel. As these skills build and confidence is gained the student will stand at the top of the class. This enables the student to choose to move into personal areas of interest as well as extracurricular activities. The student will have the free time to expand their horizons instead of being stuck relearning basics.
In summary the student will be great at math, great at speaking, great at writing and will have a solid understanding of elementary science.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
