“**A truly gifted tutor!!**”

I'm a fourth year PhD candidate at University of Illinois at Chicago studying Game Theory, Probability and Statistics. I am also a TA and I enjoy the teaching aspect of my program very much. I have been an active math tutor both professionally and for friends for the past few years and I love the experience of helping someone gain an understanding

Brian was instrumental in helping me pass a graduate level mathematical statistics exam. No matter how difficult the material was Brian always had an exceptional understanding of the material. He patiently and thoroughly explained difficult probability and statistical concepts until it made sense to me. Brian was also very flexible in scheduling times to meet and very reliable. I would highly recommend Brian as a math tutor!

Brian is always able to break the material down to a level that I can actually understand and retain. He is always kind, professional, helpful and encouraging

Brian helped me greatly with getting a better understanding of statistics. He knew the subject very well and showed examples that were better to understand than what my university professor taught in class. Very Helpful!

Brian was able to communicate his knowledge of statistics effectively-- a difficult task. I had a good experience and would recommend his services. Good job, Brian.

I was blown away by Brian's professionalism and his firm grasp on Excel. Brian was always on time and prepared for our lessons. He was immediately able to help me become more efficient, teaching me valuable shortcuts. Brian was always a few steps ahead of me and able to answer any question I had for him. I would recommend Brian to anyone!

Brian P is THE best tutor hands down. I went from feeling that I would fail my Elementary Statistics course to passing with an A. He explained theories and problems in numerous ways to make sure I understood best as possible. Brian had great availability as well. You would be lucky to have Brian as a tutor and I HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend him!

Brian was one of the best tutors I've had. He was clear with explanations with tricky math problems and always stayed on task. I highly recommend using him as a tutor he was great for me and I got an A in the class.

Brian provided accelerated excel tutoring for me. He took the time to understand what areas of the program were a review for me and what were new concepts and then highlighted each portion in a tutoring session. He was incredibly kind and patient all while accommodating my requests in a short amount of time. Brian is very knowledgeable and would be a great resource for anyone looking to brush up on excel or learn the program in its entirety.

As a graduate student studying high level mathematics, Brian really helped out not only with the concepts at hand but also the fundamentals behind the concepts. He is very accommodating to meet your schedule and extremely easy to work with. I highly recommend him for any level of mathematics, including at the undergraduate and graduate level.

After previously failing a calculus class a couple of years ago, I decided to retake the class this past fall. I enlisted the help of Brian, and could not be more thankful for his help. Brian was knowledgeable, articulate, and flexible in meeting times. With his help, I went from failing the class to getting an A. I would highly recommend Brian as a tutor.

I reached out to Brian for some help with statistics, after getting a poor grade on a midterm. Within a very short amount of time, he was able to accommodate my schedule and meet a couple times per week. He is very friendly and knowledgeable, but patient with someone who has not dealt extensively on the topic. Got an A on the final, and owe it to his help!

I have been participating in tutoring sessions with Brian this summer in preparation for entering a math-intensive graduate program. As a history major in college, I had little experience with Algebra, Pre-Calculus, and Calculus, subjects I needed to familiarize myself with for my program. Brian is studying to be a PhD in Math, and he has been able to handle all of the questions that I have asked him regarding the topics that we have been studying. In addition, he is able to distill complex subject material in a manner that is understandable for a person with a non-math background. With Brian's help, I now have a solid foundation in math topics that previously gave me difficulty. I recommend Brian highly.

Brian was a great help. He was patient in taking the time to explain the intuition behind the core concepts that kept coming up in my Probability coursework. He was a great resource for going over problems or even providing additional practice problems.

Very accommodating to the fact that I have a horrific grasp on math of any kind, and was incredibly patient. His intervention saved my grade!

Brian is a great tutor. Highly recommended for students of all ages! He is a nice guy and very intelligent. Great with students, flexible and trustworthy!

Brian is an awesome tutor who really knows how to explain statistics! He has truly helped me better understand confusing concepts. Brian is very patient, smart and extremely reliable. I would definitely recommend him as a tutor!

Brian's passion for Mathematics is only exceeded by his innate ability to easily convey complex mathematical concepts to his students. I had the privilege of being tutored by Brian in a math class at the graduate level for an extended period of time. Brian was not only able to easily understand the subject matter, but he explained it in a personalized way that made sense to me. Brian comes highly qualified and would be an excellent tutor in any math course guaranteed.

Brian is very reliable and is helping my son identify the areas and problems that he needs to spend more time on. He communicates well with my son, as well as with me, so that we are all on the same page regarding the material and issues that need more attention.

Approved subjects are in **bold**.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

I've been programming ever since I was a child (1990 or so, I was 9 years old). I began programming in GWBASIC, and graduated to more complex languages as I got older - Q Basic, C++ and Visual C++ and soon got into webpage design and learned HTML and Javascript. In college I received a Bachelors in Computer Science and was introduced to many languages but PHP in particular was a language I fell in love with. Working in finance, a heavy emphasis was on Excel and I became adept at programming Excel macros with Visual Basic.

I'm very comfortable with computer programming in general, and although each language has its own quirks and differences, the general principles are the same and similar techniques can be adapted to fit whatever language is required.

I took discrete math undergraduate at Tufts and received an A. Topics included set theory, graph theory, combinatorics. Since then I have worked as a TA for "Finite Mathematics for Business" which had a major component of counting (combinations, permutations) problems, and linear programming, both of which are common in discrete math. Other topics in which I am well versed are formulation of proofs, which is a major component of most discrete math courses, as well as introductory logic.

I took Linear Algebra during my undergraduate time at Tufts and received an A. Since that time I have taught a course in Mathematics for Business for which half the semester was focused on working with matrices to solve systems of linear equations and other applications (such as linear programming and input-output analysis problems) which used matrices.

Tutoring statistics is my specialty. I have my Ph.D. in Statistics. I have tutored intro to statistics, linear regression, time series, mathematical statistics, and R, SPSS and SAS. I have lectured statistics for math and engineering as well. I have worked with high school, college and graduate level students as well as students preparing for the actuarial exam.
