I volunteered in the English Department at the High School my sons attended. I assisted in the classroom with literature studies. My BA in English and second major in Journalism have been put to use throughout my career which spans the gamut from writing general interest features for San Diego newspapers and working in a TV newsroom, to medical transcription and grant writing.
I love the written word in all its various forms: fiction, non-fiction, poetry, theater, film, and would love nothing better than to share that passion with students.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
