I am an engineer with a company in Prescott and a former middle school math teacher with the Humboldt Unified School District. I am constantly working to learn new teaching methods and techniques.
I started tutoring when I was 16 years old helping my younger brother learn algebra. While a student at Embry-Riddle, I continued tutoring in Calculus and Physics. I love seeing the light bulb moments when a student comprehends a subject that they thought would be impossible to grasp.
My teaching method combines auditory, visual, and kinesthetic learning to help with comprehension and retention. With five years of experience as a design engineer and fabricator, I constantly break down abstract concepts into concrete examples and analogies.
I look forward to working with you and helping demystify your challenging courses. I am an engineer with a company in Prescott and a former middle school math teacher with the Humboldt Unified School District. I am constantly working to learn new teaching methods and techniques.

Tim took the time to fully explain things to my son. He made the math fun and engaging and held my son's interest while giving a through lesson.
Tim has come on board to help my son in 6th grade with algebra and to prepare for comps. The day after their first session my son's algebra teacher emailed me to tell me that he noticed a huge positive change and a light bulb had turned on. He understood new complex topics that had been challenging him just after one session. We feel confident now heading into comps. Tim has been so accommodating, an all around nice guy. Thank you Tim!
Tim is an easy going and great tutor who has the student do the processes to assure they get it...and I did!!
Tim did a great job preparing my son for his honors geometry quiz. He reviewed the chapter and even made time to give my son a head start and prepare him for the next section. Super night, again with Tim. Thank you!
Tim has been helping me with both physics and calculus...He breaks them both down and explains a lot concepts of easily so that understand both subjects better. I would highly recommend Tim as a tutor.
Tim was great. Tim helped my daughter catch up 6 weeks of math due to our relocation to Az. Before sitting down with Tim there were only a couple of problems she could do after 2 hrs with Tim she had completed the sections problems and finished her test with confidence. Thank you again Tim you're the best!
We really appreciate Tim's help. He answered questions our family had and I believe he gave our grandson confidence to do his work.
Tim is tutoring my ASD daughter, helping her with college-level engineering and math courses. Their first meeting went quite well and my daughter was happy with the progress, even though they struggled through a computer programming issue. She spoke to her professor the next day and they were on the right track, so her confidence went way up. Thanks, Tim!
Tim helped me raise my physics grade in one week by four points. Never thought I could do that and could not without his help. He's now a weekly guest in my home.
Tim has been a tremendous help to my 8th grade student who is in an advanced Algebra class. He is very accommodating and my son not only looks forward to his sessions, but will request a session on his own if he has a big test coming up or is having a hard time with a concept. I thought I would have to force my son to go to tutoring, but Tim has made it a great experience and explains things in a way my son can really understand. In fact his grade went from a C to A in just a few weeks after working with Tim. It is nice to have such a great resource just an email away.
My daughter seems to really learn quick with Tim as her tutor. He is very patient and her confidence with math is growing.
This tutor is so patient and really knows how to explain subjects. My son, who struggles with college algebra, said this is the best tutor he has had. After being tutored he scored over a 97% on his next exam. Can't wait until his next exam to get Tim again. Thank you Tim. Until his next exam, we will see you later. Oh by the way did I say that we contacted Tim late at night after we found out our son had a 73 in this class. Yet, Tim responded and came out the next day before my son's next exam was due. Just awesome.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am a middle school math teacher working with Common Core/AZCCRS aligned curriculum from Georgia Standards and Engage NY among others. I am well versed in the differences between Common Core and traditional curriculum including the terminology taken from Singapore math that is unfamiliar to Arizona students. I use a blended approach to Common Core concepts, using traditional algorithms as well as visual and kinesthetic methods.
I have over four years of experience tutoring elementary students. My education in engineering and business has given me a depth of understanding across the spectrum of academic subjects. I also drive buses for Humboldt Unified School District in Arizona and transport preschool, elementary, and high school students regularly.
I have worked with the Windows Operating System for more than 18 years. I have worked on computers based on many of the major OS releases including Windows 95, 98, XP, Vista, 7, and 8/8.1. I have provided IT support for local businesses as an independent contractor for two years and functioned as the IT specialist at my workplace for four years.
I have seven years of experience designing parts using SolidWorks as the primary CAD tool. I have worked on projects ranging from simple sheet metal brackets to large motion platforms with thousands of individual components. My work has primarily focused on creating models using the sheet metal and weldment tools, then creating production drawings using ASME standards for dimensions and tolerances.
