I am currently enrolled in a teaching prep program at Rio Salado College. I am not sure what grades I want to teach or tutor, but I know I want to work with kids and make a difference in their lives.
I am passionate about the arts, photography, yoga, health and could be a good coach in these areas.
I have a Bachelor's degree in psychology with an art therapy emphasis from Prescott College that I received May 2011. I have many art courses under my belt and I am also a working photographer.
Much of my previous background is business and working in offices as office manager or administrative assistant. I'm very organized, professional and this background helps me work with people and doing customer service in a variety of ways.
During my Psychology program at Prescott College, this is what I did for projects and working one-on-one with people:
•May 2011 - Senior Project-An Investigation of Integrative Approaches to Therapy using art, photography and other creative modalities
•Worked one-on-one with Parkinson’s’ patient who was also a stroke survivor – Provided Yoga therapy and chair exercise program
•Various art projects performed from "God is at Eye Level" and other workbooks, used friends as "subjects" to create art pieces, collages and photographs
•Sept 2010 – Dec 2010 - Six Week ‘Photography as Therapy’ art therapy study
•Worked one-on-one with 'client', role-playing on self-esteem issues, dealing with trauma and conflict resolution
•Utilized art therapy modalities including drawing, collages and photography
•Summer 2010 - Art and Nature project: Worked one-on-one with children 6 – 10 years of age creating art relating to nature; using colored pencils, markers, colored paper, glue, glitter
I would love to do more of the above in a Teaching environment versus mental health. I think all of my experiences and education thus far, can only help me to help others.
I would love working with K-6 or would work with other grades as well even with college level. I am currently enrolled in a teaching prep program at Rio Salado College. I am not sure what grades I want to teach or tutor, but I know I want to work with kids and make a difference in their lives.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
