Hello, my name is Tayah! I am a junior at Georgetown University, majoring in Finance. I've always had a passion for math in high school but quickly recognized a familiar enthusiasm to help others. Hello, my name is Tayah! I am a junior at Georgetown University, majoring in Finance. I've always had a passion for math in high school but quickly recognized a familiar enthusiasm to help others. I was not someone who was taught a subject and immediately excelled. I would go home, review my notes, ask a lot of questions the next day in class, and repeat this process until I felt comfortable enough to move on. Throughout high school, I encouraged all my Tutees to engage in the same approach, to truly find success in a subject.
I've continued with this practice in my current tutoring methods - adding new aspects along the way. My aim for every tutoring session is for the student to explain one problem/example to me. Having the ability to walk yourself and others through a problem is a huge step in gaining confidence in a less familiar subject. I know from experience it can be scary at first, but I will be there to guide you through any unknown areas.
Tutoring should never be stressful, and it is my goal to make a unique and open space for every session. Asking questions and not being afraid to speak up are signs of an active mind, something you can implement in any subject!
I have experience in Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Precalculus, and AP Calculus AB, but I am comfortable tutoring students k-12. I scored a "5" on my AP Calculus AB Exam in high school and took Brief Calculus in college.
Please contact me with any questions or concerns, and I will gladly provide a quick response. I'm looking forward to seeing what we can accomplish together!
