I am a certified teacher and certified principal with 15 years of experience as an elementary school educator. My certifications (including an early childhood endorsement) and fingerprint clearance card are current. I have taught kindergarten, 1st grade, 2nd grade, and 3rd grade. I have worked in the Paradise Valley Unified School District, Alhambra Elementary School District, and Phoenix Elementary School District. I was the extended day tutoring facilitator for 3 years. I love working with kids and I enjoy using my creativity to find the best ways to help them learn.

My method is to first assess my student(s) to be able to meet them where they are and take them even further. Each student is unique and I feel that creating relationships with each one helps to keep them engaged with the learning. Once I have gotten to know the student, I develop a plan that best meets his/her needs. I continue to monitor the student and adjust the plan based upon the student's growth.

I tutor all subjects at the elementary level but I specialize in teaching reading and writing to K-3 students. I am passionate about these subjects and enjoy the sense of accomplishment that comes with students achieving success. Using a variety of materials, books, and games helps keep students engaged with the learning. Getting to know the topics that interest a student encourages successful reading progress.

I have experience with ADHD, Autism/Asperger's, Special Education, Gifted, English Language Learners, Trauma and more. My experience includes teaching many unique students with various backgrounds. I have a firm belief that all students can learn and be successful.
