The University of Arizona, Tucson Arizona (Physics)
My name is Rachel, and I'm a graduate of the University of Arizona. I have been tutoring throughout college, primarily in the physical sciences, and I love helping people learn.
It's true that math and science are difficult subjects. However, I believe that with the right tools, everyone is capable of succeeding. I understand that different people can have very different learning styles, and that's great! I am very flexible and patient, and I will work to find the method that works best for you.
I hold a B.S. in Physics, with a concentration in Astrophysics. I've taken a wide variety of courses, from classical mechanics to general relativity.
I actually nearly chose English as my college major! In my entire academic career, I have never earned a grade lower than an A in any English class. I am experienced in MLA and APA formats, and am also proficient in technical and scientific writing.
Heisenberg's operators may not commute, but I do! I'm able to travel throughout the valley. Feel free to contact me with any questions. I look forward to working with you! Rachel tutored my daughter in physics. She was excellent. I loved her style in having my daughter explain her understanding of the topic being discussed first. I would highly recommend her.
Rachel helped me with Pre-Calcalaus. During both sessions she was very calm and helped me solve each problem step by step. After she thought I was fine with the problem she made up her own and watched me solve on my own pointing out my mistakes, if any, and told me why it was incorrect. Would totally recommend to anybody struggling with math!
Rachel is fun and enthusiastic, in addition to being incredibly knowledgeable about physics. She has been fantastic for my daughter who was having some trouble with her honors freshman physics class. Can't recommend Rachel highly enough!!
My daughter has been working with Rachel (in Algebra2 and Physics) for several months now and I can clearly see that she has a better grasp on both subjects. Rachel has helped her bring her math grade up from a C to a B and her physics grade from a D to an A. My daughter is very picky with her tutors and she absolutely adores Rachel! If your child is struggling and needs someone who can present these subjects in a way that caters to their specific learning needs then I highly recommend her as the tutor for you!
Calculus. She taught my son "how to conceptualize calculus and how to think clearly about a ton of problems". He thinks "I really killed it on my most recent test" because of her help.
extremely knowledgeable on the subject matter and very good at explaining the material in question. Rachel had the ability to explain and make understand processes that prior teachers were not able to do.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
