I am a returned Peace Corps volunteer and Teach For America Alum. I've been teaching math at Agua Fria High School for 3 years now. I have taught remedial math, prealgebra, Algebra 1 and Geometry. In college, I also tutoring students in Geometry and Algebra.
My vision for tutoring is as follows: Students who normally do not feel comfortable in math class will be given the opportunity to excel in tutoring, which will lead to success in the classroom. And students who already feel comfortable in math will be able to advance their skills at their own pace, potentially exceeding the planned coursework. Also, all students will practice gratitude and good work ethic while encouraging one another in a safe and positive environment. Additionally, parents will be given the opportunity to collaborate in meeting the student's needs.
I enjoy working with students who traditionally struggle with math and helping them to become for comfortable and confident. I have experience with the following areas: Algebra 1, Prealgebra, Geometry, and Remedial Math.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
