About Robert

Hi there! My name is Robert.

For 6 years, I've provided high level instruction to elementary aged students in a variety of grade levels. Now, I want to take my passion of helping students learn to become better and help tutor your child.

I received my Elementary Education degree from the University of Arizona. During my time there, I was awarded the Rodel Promising Student Teacher accolade. With that I was able to be trained by a certified Master Teacher. From there, I began to work exclusively in lower-income Title 1 schools in both Tucson and Phoenix. It proved challenging every day, though I succeeded in helping all the students I could grow over our year together.

As a self-proclaimed mega nerd of all things, I loved bringing my own hobbies and interest into the classroom. Everything from comic books in the classroom library to Magic the Gathering games at lunch to Lightsaber board pointers. Sharing who I am with my students is how I attribute my success and ability to connect.

I currently maintain my state-certified teaching certificate, possess over 200 hours of Professional Development training, 6 years total in the field, and the ability to boost a class over a year's growth in less than a year's time. My expertise with managing students, consistently being on task, and having the highest degree of rigor allowed my students to make more than a year's growth in less than a year's time.

If you feel your student needs help becoming better today than yesterday, contact me now for a Free Consultation.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
