About Scott

My name is Scott, I'm a dual citizen of France and the United States. I have worked as a teacher's assistant at ASU and have a strong understanding of written and spoken French, including modern slang and idioms. I'm very patient and enjoy a good laugh.

I also enjoy talking, reading, and hearing about archaeology, which I hope to pursue a career in. I spend my time around the Valley and very occasionally make it back to Paris and Normandy, where my French family hails from.

I have experience teaching a variety of subjects to a range of different ages, from young children to adults in university. I have been bilingual ever since I could talk and have maintained and improved my language skills over the years. I also love the country, the food, and the films and literature of France.

I'm a very patient person, and as I am trying to learn a new language myself I understand personally many of the difficulties in trying to learn a foreign tongue. I invite anyone who wishes to expand their vocabulary, improve their accent, work on their grammar, or simply converse regularly in French to approach me for tutoring!

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
