About Geraldine

Aloha! My name is Geraldine and I am certified teacher in both Arizona and Hawaii. I have 10 years teaching experience working with students in the general education, self-contained, and resource settings. Currently, I work with a high school group of students who receive services under IDEA. Together we work on functional and daily living skills. We also work in the vocational workshop, which gives me a chance to paint, work on assembly tasks, and create different crafts that we get to sell at our school's craft fairs. In the past, I worked as a tutor for students in their homes. We also went on community outings where we were able to practice many of their skills. I enjoy teaching elementary science, reading, math, and social studies. I enjoy tutoring because it gives me an opportunity to work with various individuals.

I enjoy teaching various subjects and modify activities in order to suit different learners. I have taught general education general education math as well as a modified version of grade level standards in order to accommodate individual students.

I have taught individuals with special needs for 10 years. Most of my teaching experience is working with individuals with autism and those who exhibit challenging behaviors.

I am a full-time teacher, but I am willing to make accommodations in order to ensure that tutoring sessions are completed. I am typically available Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays from 4:30-6:30 P.M., Thursdays from 5-7 P.M.

If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
