About David

I have many experiences tutoring and teaching, from one-on-one through Arizona State University's America Reads/Counts program at the Boys & Girls Club to whole group as an elementary school teacher. I worked with America Reads/Counts through four consecutive semesters. Each serving up to three underpriveleged children with appropriate areas of struggle. After graduating from ASU with my Bachelors in Education, I worked three years in Title 1 schools. At this time, I have chosen to take time out to update my provisional certificate and possibly furthering my degree.

I have always enjoyed opportunities to teach, inspire, and be a part of the learning journey of young minds. Those 'A-ha' moments that parents and teachers alike are so used to seeing are priceless and guide me everyday. I take pride in my ability to make positive and constructive changes with something that a child will utilize for the rest of their life and community. My goal when instructing is to establish confidence with any subject and any topic with the eventual goal of dominating a test by being prepared to illustrate all their hard work along with valuing the pursuit of knowledge.

Asking questions every day and realizing that nowadays it's not always about knowing and memorizing answers but where to find them and how to establish clear know how in the real-world.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
