I've been teaching for 20 years in both elementary and high school. My strengths are teaching English, reading, writing, social studies and science. I like to provide hands-on learning, project-based, when possible and help my students make connections to the real world. Why is this learning important to me? I'm patient, use different approaches to learning because we all learn differently. Integrating technology is important these days and definitely makes learning more fun and creative. I enjoy teaching and connecting with my students.

I know that preparation and planning provide learning activities that effectively engage students and teach them the important objectives they need to be successful students.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
