Hi my name is Leonard. My understanding and immersion into Hebrew was accomplished while living in Israel, however, I have taught in the Phoenix public schools for approximately ten years and I really enjoy working with students of all age. I'm am partially retired and therefore can make myself available throughout the day or in the early evening hours. I teach modern conversational Hebrew as well as pre- Bar/Bat Mitzvah training. I can teach Hebrew for daily prayers using the Siddur or I can teach you Hebrew simply as a foreign language. I also have my Master's in Education and I make myself available for tutoring in English as well. I look forward to helping you accomplish your educational needs!

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I taught at the Bureau of Jewish Education in Scottsdale, Arizona in the adult Hebrew program for eight years (2000-2008). In addition, I taught at Hebrew High School In Scottsdale, Arizona for three years (2003-2006). Having lived in Israel I participated in extensive study in the Hebrew language at multiple Ulpanim (intensive Hebrew language immersion programs).
I was the lead teacher at Creighton School District in Phoenix, Arizona in the Special Needs Class for one year (2004-2005). It was my class with three teacher's aids and twelve students of disparate physical and emotional needs. I also worked in the Madison Elementary School District in numerous special needs settings for about eight years (2000-2008). As a teacher I was helping students to meet their daily needs and teaching regular subjects at a pace that best suited each individual student to help them function in a public school setting. I currently am teaching at a High School, a charter school, in the south mountain area of Phoenix. I greatly appreciate the students that apply themselves in their daily school work, although challenged, it is rewarding to see them reach their goals and accomplish their educational requirements. I look forward to helping more students through WyzAnt services.
