I love teaching and helping students reach their full learning potential. I have experience in tutoring for ACT and SAT prep in the areas of reading, writing, and vocabulary. I'm currently a high school English teacher and have been teaching for over 10 years. I recently just completed a tutoring job with a student from ASU in a program for foreign exchange students. I helped him increase his speaking, reading, and writing skills. I've also taught GED preparation classes in the past.
My time is very flexible, especially during the summer months when I'm not teaching. I'm very patient with my students and also require hard work and dedication to improving their skills. I appreciate feedback from the students and the parents. This helps me to know how to improve what I'm doing in order to better service the student. I'm willing to travel to the nearest most convenient place for my students. I also feel that consistency is key when you are trying to improve a particular academic skill.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
