I have a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, and a master's degree in applied mathematics. I have experience teaching algebra and geometry at the high school level. I also have experience as a tutor with a large private learning center. I've helped countless students of all ages with math of all levels. I've also taught SAT and ACT prep. I've tutored students in English, reading, and writing.
I enjoy teaching a great deal and am well versed in teaching in different styles to fit the student. I like to focus on building a student's confidence and understanding over memorization. My son was struggling with PreCalculus and Peter was able to set up a plan and help him reach his goal by end of the quarter.
Peter went out of his way to be accommodating. He knows his material and does a thorough job. Very happy with his services. Will definitely use him again.
Update (4/28/2014): Peter is very good at what he does. He explains everything thoroughly and thoughtfully. My daughter is getting caught up in geometry.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
