American Public University Masters in History (Master's)
If you are looking for a history tutor, chances are that you believe that history is nothing more than memorizing a lot of dates, battles, and names of presidents. If that sounds like you, I have the cure! I work with students every day that came to my class thinking that they would rather have a root canal than take a history class, but quickly learned that history is really stories about people. Who doesn't love a good story? I teach at both the junior high and university level, so my methods work for a variety of age groups. I start with the least we need to know - the basic facts - and then help students understand why we should care. When there is a connection to something, we are all more likely to understand and remember. So it is with history.
Did I mention I am also a writer? My undergraduate education is in English and I was inducted into Sigma Tau Delta, the National English Honor Society. I primarily write non-fiction articles, which comes in very handy when I am working with my students on their writing projects. I am well-versed in AP, MLA, and Chicago (Turabian) formatting. If you need help with English, writing, or any type of essay, I can do that.
Are you ready to get started? I offer tutoring in person or via Skype/online chat. I look forward to working with you!

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
