I have helped over 100 students boost their SAT scores by as many as 250 points, and their ACT scores by as many as 5 points! Many of my students now attend schools including Yale, Cornell, and the U.S. Naval Academy. These results come from hundreds of hours of experience breaking down SAT and ACT problems into simple, easy-to-understand steps. During my lessons, I use prompting questions to help students understand the steps they must take to solve problems on their own. I am able to quickly diagnose weaknesses in the areas of time management, reading, math, vocabulary, etc., and turn them into strengths though my guided practice exercises.

I worked as a professional SAT/ACT and Elementary Tutor for Huntington Learning Center before joining Wyzant's platform. I have also guided students though the college admissions process. I have helped many of them improve their personal statements and application essays to reflect their stunning talent and persistent dedication.

When I do have free time, I would almost always rather be tutoring! Lessons with me are fun and engaging, and your student will become well acquainted with the feeling of success after the very first lesson. I am currently a licensed attorney and a 2017 graduate of BYU's J. Reuben Clark School of Law. During my time there, I was a lead editor of the Education Law Journal. I received a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education in April 2012 from Brigham Young University.

Helped score over 1500 on SAT

My daughter did SAT prep with Anna and found it very helpful!! She helped teach her a lot of good strategies that allowed her to improve on her previous SAT score. She was also super patient and encouraging, and she really helped build my daughter's confidence about taking the SAT. It was such a pleasure to work with her!

Very reactive tutor

Anna C is pretty experienced! I've been studying the SAT for a while now but she's easily on the same page with me on any concept I bring up. She's really good assorting exactly what needs to be learned, ask her for an example or a type of question and she'll type one up in 8 seconds. So it's pretty visible how experienced she is, I speak pretty fast too and she responds immediately after being asked something. Would definitely recommend if you prosper in high quality, high density study environments.

Positive, patient, and adaptable

Anna can quickly pinpoint what my daughter is struggling with the most. This puts my daughter at ease and makes these sessions much more productive. Anna had helped my daughter with ACT, SAT, editing, organizing, and scheduling.

Very organised and efficient!

I've learned so much from Anna in the last (basically) month we have worked together! I originally started with a Reading score at 21 and within 2 weeks I was able to raise it to a 32 with the help of Anna. One of the best things I would say is that her strategies are very useful and she is also flexible with them, as not all students are the same. She is very efficient with her lesson time and is also very committed to making sure the bulk of the work is done in a fast and organised manner. She is very experienced and knows a lot about both the SAT and ACT. Everything has been really amazing with Anna and I am looking forward to continuing!
