About Niraj

My name is Niraj Javia. If you or your child is struggling with Math, I can help! I have learned a variety of techniques to help my students fully understand and appreciate the math they are doing. See below for info about my past and present!

PAST:
I have received an undergraduate degree from Georgia Tech in Electrical Engineering. While at school I tutored an introductory circuits class. I also taught a lego class to elementary students as an after school program. After graduation, I worked at Schneider Electric and a Sales Engineer as well as helped 250+ students on career advice.

PRESENT:
I am back in school to pursue my education degree at Arizona State University. I want to educate more people on a subject that not a lot of people enjoy, Math. My belief is if I can make math more enjoyable as an educator, the students can have an open mind on all the career opportunities where math knowledge is very helpful.

I have taken and passed the NES Math Exam which covers all math that is learned through grade school and most of college.

Helping people is my forte. I have been volunteering with FIRSTRobotics, ChickTech, etc. If I can help you understand and comprehend math, your potential is limitless! Let me help you LOVE math. :)

I am new to Mesa, AZ area but already accrued 50+ hours in Atlanta with ages ranging from 10 years old to 55 years old in all subjects in math! 8)

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

ACT Math

I am going to school to become Math teacher which requires knowledge of all high school math. That is what I studied before getting into the Master's Program.

Algebra 1

I took the NES Math Test for Teacher Certification which had a lot of Algebra 1 on it.

Algebra 2

I took the GRE which had a lot of Algebra 2 questions in which I have brushed up on during the studying and taking the test.

Basketball

I play basketball every day and have been in multiple leagues.

Career Development

During my time at Georgia Tech, I had 3 different applying seasons (2 internships and 1 full time). In this time I have applied to a total of 500 postings, gotten 50 interviews and got 8 official offers. After all this, I made a google doc of tips and tricks for career fairs, interviews, resumes, etc. After graduating I have helped at least 250+ students in the career development subject and more to come!

Elementary Math

I have helped tutor young elementary students on mathematical skills while in college. We had an event called Kids@College which we were given the task to help the excitement of kids and math that were in the nearby elementary schools. Was loads of fun!

Prealgebra

I have taken the National Evaluation Series test to become a certified teacher in math and it covers all of k-12 school math and some of college math. I am a degreed electrical engineer from Georgia Tech so math is a subject I enjoy. I am starting my grad school in Secondary Math Education at Arizona State in May so I will only get better at Math! :D

Precalculus

I am a degreed electrical engineer from Georgia Tech which means I used a lot of precalculus continuously throughout my college career.

SAT Math

I have taken the SAT Math portion in the past and did well on it. Want to help other students with getting a grasp of Math.

Trigonometry

I completed a statics class in college, which was full of trig. I got an A.

AMAZING TEACHER! VERY PATIENT & KIND!

My son says he learned a lot within a short time frame. Niraj J. taught him a simple way to break down his work and truly understand the material. Looking forward to more sessions!
