I am a recent graduate from Northern Arizona University, and I have degrees in both mathematics and physics. I have experience tutoring in both of my majors, and love to share my experience with other people.

I have tutored both formally and informally throughout my education, covering a wide variety of topics. I believe in teaching

Approved subjects are in **bold**.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

First, I'd like to describe what discrete mathematics includes for me. It is mainly basic combinatorics and graph theory, covering topics such as counting and arrangements of things (such as how many unique ways there are to arrange the letters in "Mississippi"), basic graph theory (such as various graphs, cycles, paths, things of that nature), and maybe a touch of number theory, not really delving much deeper than proofs by induction. As for these areas, I completed both a number theory and a generic discrete mathematics course as part of my education at Northern Arizona University, and I also did extensive research into graph theory which lead to me publishing in graph theory (“Prime Vertex Labelings of Families of Unicyclic Graphs” and “Prime Vertex Labelings of Several Families of Graphs” are the titles of the papers). Ultimately, I feel I can teach the material quite well, covering concepts such as Cayley's formula, induction, the pigeonhole principle, the binomial coefficients, and ways to count.

I mainly tutored incoming freshmen in mathematics, often focusing very heavily on precalculus.
