About Walter

Hello. My name is Walter and I live in the Mesa AZ area. I did my undergraduate education at Chicago State University, and did my graduate education at Howard University in Washington DC. I have worked at various facilities and have worked in various occupations. For instance, during my time as a graduate student, I worked as an intern at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center three different summers and also at the National Solar Observatory. I also was a cooperative education researcher at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center between the years of 1999 and 2004. I graduated with my MS degree in 2004 and with my PhD in 2009. I then did postdoctoral research at the National Solar Observatory in Tucson between the years of 2009 and 2011. For my postdoctoral research I did work in the area of local helioseismology and modelling waves trapped in supergranulation (all of this pertains to research related to the Sun). After this research came to an end, I began teach part time. I started teaching in the mathematics department at Pima Community College while living in Tucson AZ. There I taught College Algebra, Topics in Calculus, and Finite Mathematics. I later moved to Mesa (where I currently reside) and taught at Mesa Community College and Arizona State University for a few semesters. At these places of higher learning I taught University Physics: Electricity and Magnetism, University Physics: Mechanics, and Conceptual Physics. Finally, I began teaching full time at the high school level. I taught for a short time at Precision High School in Phoenix, and later at Primavera Online High School, which is where I am currently. I like to do various things when I get the chance, such as listen to music, read, and catch an occasional movie sometimes when not studying physics, mathematics, or something related to programming.

I have a lot of mathematics related experience that varies from doing research, academics as a student, as well a academics as a teacher. This all has given me oversight as well as hindsight as to the details of doing mathematics problems.

I hope that I am able to help you to the best of my capacity, based upon what I have learned in the past, and what I am keeping abreast of in the present. I wish you much success and am willing to get you to the next level of your academic endeavors.
