Arizona State University (BSE Mechanical Engin)
I am an honor student at Arizona State University entering my junior year. I am double majoring in History and Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Mathematics. As a student, I have seen success as I have learned how to study and master new concepts, and my pleasure as a teacher comes from helping other students achieve the same success, reflected in improving grades. I just spent the last two years working as a full time volunteer teacher for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and before that I worked for about three years as an independent math tutor. That is, I was employed by individuals (mainly high school students) to help them understand how to do their homework and prepare for exams.
My specialty in teaching is math of all levels and quantitative sciences such as physics. Whether it's long division or multi-variable calculus, I believe all math problems can be tackled by understanding the principles and objectives of each problem. My approach is to make sure the student understands the big picture, then demonstrate with specific examples, checking for understanding at each step along the way. In addition to math, I enjoy teaching a wide range of subjects, such as reading and history.
I am very flexible when it comes to meeting locations, fees, and scheduling (as long as it doesn't interfere with my own classes). Each student is unique, and I try to be sensitive to his or her needs.

He helped me catch up in the class and make me feel like I can do the calculus problems. He was a great tutor!
This was only our first meeting, more are scheduled. He helped me with my lack of knowledge on how to get started with integration problems.
I have a young man that is currently attending school and will be attending ASU for his Mechanical Engineering Program. I highly recommend Lincoln. He is extremely intelligent with courses and provides the necessary tools for your student to
succeed. We will continue to request for Lincoln as we start the journey to ASU
Lincoln is very accessible and responds very quickly. He simplifies explanations which I tend to over think and I do so much better on my tests when he tutors me!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
