My love of learning never seems to end and I feel like I am a forever college student. I graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor's degree in Special Education. After graduation I took a couple years off before returning to work on my Master's degree. I graduated with my first Master's degree in curriculum and instruction with a focus in applied behavior analysis. I have also completed the required coursework for a graduate certificate in Autism Spectrum Disorder. In addition to special education coursework I have been concurrently working on a master's degree in curriculum and instruction with a focus in the area of talented and gifted. All of my education has helped me not only be successful in the classroom as a junior and senior high teacher but as a parent of a child who receives special education services as well.

I have tutored for the state as an AIMS tutor and specialize in the areas of math, social studies, reading and writing. I have taught or tutored all grade levels and enjoy them all. I ensure that all my students are working on achieving their individual academic goals and while celebrating the small victories along the way. My students consistently meet their goals and show growth in all subject areas I teach especially in regards to AIMS.

I set high standards for myself and communicate with parents on a regular basis. I look forward to feedback from parents. I am flexible with hours and my only request is that if necessary to cancel a tutoring session that I am notified within four hours of the session. I understand that sometimes situations beyond our control happen and do offer makeup sessions. I am willing to tutor in your home or at another location if necessary. I have an FBI clearance background check.

I look forward to hearing from you and helping you achieve academic success!

Awesome Tutor Who Really Cares!

We feel so fortunate to have found Allison. She is not only a teacher who can teach, but she truly cares about the success of her student(s). She is patient, supportive and finds different methods to help my daughter understand the concepts. It takes a special person to be a good teacher, and I know we found one of the best. Thanks, Allison!

Enthusiastic, engaging, and extremely knowledgable tutor

Allison has had Molly excited and engaged from the first minute they met. Molly is very excited to meet with Allison, and is more outgoing and talkative than I've ever seen her with someone 'new.' Allison inspires her to want to learn and she talks incessantly and with detail after each session, and insists I take her straight to the book store to look at new books. She has gained great confidence, saying, "Mom, I'm a good reader,"

Carol, 14 lessons with Allison
