I am a highly qualified high school math teacher and I'm here to help, specializing in making math relevant, interesting and fun. I studied engineering at the University of Arizona and therefore I believe math is much more than the abstract. Math is a route to a meaningful physical solution.
My students learn to take control of their own education and I teach math using simple methods that students can understand and master. Your students will see results. Tutoring can be geared to improve test scores.
I specialize in the core subjects of pre-algebra (8th grade), algebra (9th grade), and geometry (10th grade). My methods are straight forward and easy to understand. Students will learn effective problem solving techniques that will make math understandable and enjoyable. It will not take countless tutoring hours for your student to master the skills they need to succeed on their own and excel in math and science. You will not be disappointed. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
