I'm one of those nuts who loves math! I understand it in a way that enables me to teach certain principles in more than one way. This is helpful because not everybody learns the same way. College math classes I have taken include College Algebra, Stats, Trigonometry, and Calculus 1.
I earned my Bachelor´s of Science degree from Brigham Young University in Exercise Science with an emphasis in Nutrition and Spanish. With this degree I gained a basic knowledge of Physics and Chemistry, but I pride myself in being very knowledgeable about the body (Anatomy, Physiology, and Kinesiology) as well as the way our bodies process nutrients (Nutrition). I am passionate about the subjects I have studied and would love to help you or your child better understand them as well! I'm one of those nuts who loves math! Marie, exceeded my expectations, from the knowledge as well as a combination in her approach. Made the information, pop out at me after the explaining. In a haze of information, she made the path of the information more clear.
Marie is great. Very dependable and knowledgeable. Happy to have a tutor that is very helpful and patient. The first time we met and went over my algebra assignment I knew she could help me through this course. I feel more confident in my math skills more than ever.
Marie is wonderful, she is very patient, kinda, caring, good natured and has great teaching skills. Our daughter enjoys her lessons with Marie and it is clear that Marie has a special knack for explaining concepts in a clear, simple manner using various methods. We would highly recommend Marie to anyone looking for great, affordable tutor.
Marie, thank you very much for your help. My grade went from an F to a B. I am truly thankful for your patience.
Marie was an amazing tutor for my son. He was getting tutoring at school and itjust wasn't helping therefore he was failing freshman math. He just got the highest grade on the final and is now passing!!!! Thanks to her availability and patients he wouldn't have been able to do it without her!!!! Thank you so much Marie!!!!
In one hour Marie help me to understand more than my teacher has done in a entire semester, I wish she was my teacher.
Marie taught me math and she was amazing at it! I enjoyed our lesson and am looking forward to more.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I studied Essentials of Human Nutrition (NDFS 100) and Nutrient Metabolism (NDFS 200) at Brigham Young University and earned A´s in both classes. Since earning my degree, I have made nutrition a subject of personal study. I use my nutrient knowledge everyday to improve my own health and seek opportunites to teach others and share my passion.
I grew up in a very musical family. I played the trumpet, guitar, competed in choir classes, and I took piano lessons for years as a kid and now have my own piano in my own house. I am no Mozzart, but I know my notes and am very patient when it comes to helping others learn to play as well.
Prealgebra skills are used throughout Algebra 1 and Algebra 2, which I teach.
I took years of sewing classes, and since those classes I have continued to sew often. I can follow a pattern and I have even made my own patterns for clothing, home decor, and other items. Whether someone would like to learn how to sew or needs help with a project, I can help.
