About Roberta

Hello! To explain a little about myself, I am currently a college student at Arizona State University and I am pursuing my undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering. This school year I am engaging in research regarding biofuels which further my interests in laboratory research and sustainability.

Although I am new to Wyzant, I have experience tutoring a variety of subject matter. I have tutored my junior and senior years at high school in the subjects of Math, General Science, and English. I have all my tutoring qualifications and interest on my profile panel, but if you see something not listed (such as the College Board AP tests), feel free to message me and inquire.

I have taken the following AP tests and scored 4+:
-Calculus AB
-Calculus BC
-United States History
-Chemistry
-Biology
-Physics
-Language and Composition
-Literature
-Economics
-Government and Politics

My academia is not restricted to the classroom of standardized tests and assignments. My thorough understanding of the subject material has been proven through academic competitions. I have competed in the Arizona Decathlon competition and was a medalist at the all levels of competition, finishing with a gold medal at the state competition for the Essay portion. I have won first place in state for National History Day for my United States History project and qualified on the national level. If you have any interests in these areas of competition, feel free to message me for some more information on how I can help!

I look forward to engaging with students. Through lessons and sessions, I hope to help students grow the confidence to succeed. Please do not hesitate to contact me to find out more, schedule lessons, or ask any impending questions.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

I have completed Linear Algebra at Arizona State University and completed the course within the 96% percentile of the class. I am adept in the usage of the Ti-84 calculator (or any graphing calculator) for the computation and mathematical manipulation of matrices as well as methods to use the Eigenvectors and Eigenvalues. I can offer a better explanation of to students by drawing a side by side comparison of the rudimentary algebraic systems and linear algebra, and how linear algebra is a simpler and easier than the methods taught previously in Algebra 1.

Proofreading

More about my Proofreading qualifications:

-I have received an A+ on all my chemistry research papers on the college level
